Data & Solutions

Before and after each individual Game Changer event, all participants are required to complete surveys that measure their perceptions on law enforcement community relations.

They are also asked to complete a follow up survey 5 weeks after the event that they attended. The surveys are administered via smart tablet during in-person events, via email during virtual events.

The purpose of the surveys is to measure whether or not the Game Changer experience elicited changes in their thoughts and behaviors, changes that are the crux of the Game Changer. A data analysis conducted by the San Diego State University Institute of Public Health shows that Game Changer is effective at changing the perceptions and behavior of the participants. The analysis also revealed that the model is effective at educating the participants. Finally, the analysis illustrates that law enforcement participants and community resident participants believe that far more Game Changer events are needed across the country.
